Overview:
This is a REMOTE position.
The Consultant-Compensation administers compensation programs, manages and leads major projects on a regional or ministry-wide basis. Consults with department leaders to address compensation issues and provide experienced compensation guidance, expert advice and exceptional service.
Proactively conducts analyses to identify potential issues and initiates corrective action; recommends process improvements; drafts compensation policies and guidelines.
Serves as a subject expert on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); interprets regulations affecting compensation, HR and labor and issues recommendations; addresses unique and complex compliance matters and advises HR and departmental leaders regarding solutions.
Stays abreast of trends and developments in compensation, monitors the industry and provides updates to the compensation team; identifies best practices and recommends innovative approaches to compensation practices and services.
Researches compensation sources and assists in developing innovative pay and incentive programs.
Confers with Department leaders regarding compensation matters such as recruitment, retention and incentives; develops compensation proposals, presentations, talking points and coworker communications.
Develops pay structures and regional market pay differentials; conducts periodic review of market data and trends in structure movement and recommends reasonable competitive adjustments.
Assists with the regional compensation budget administration; updates and maintains a record of expenditures and balances; provides data for budget projections and annual budget preparation; compiles data and recommends the annual merit budget.
Mentors and coaches the compensation team on compensation practices, methods and analyses; serves as a lead member on project teams.
Manages compensation projects for major department clients; prepares project proposals, timelines, cost analyses and data summaries; prepares agendas and leads client meetings to ensure timely completion; compiles data and submits documentation to implement project objectives.
Participates in market surveys and benchmark analysis; assists in or administers a dedicated compensation system and database.
Participates in the annual performance evaluation and merit review process.
Utilizes the HR ERP system to access coworker data, enter and update job and position record and conduct analyses.
Qualifications:
Experience: Experience including ERP System (Lawson) usage, pay administration and FLSA interpretation
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, finance or related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Education: Advanced degree in a related field. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
