Mesalands Community College is seeking a full-time Coordinator for Career Services. This leadership position is responsible for working
strategically and collaborating cross-functionally, breaking down institutional silos, to provide career planning and serve as the key
resource to students, faculty, and the community on developing a career plan, understanding the educational or training requirements for the
chosen career, to provide assessments and testing to assist an individual with a career that matches their interests and satisfactions, and
to maintain a directory of career and job opportunities. The Coordinator is expected to collaborate and make data driven decision to best
focus career decision making efforts. The Department of Enrollment Management at Mesalands Community College encompasses admissions,
registrar, advising, recruitment, and career services to provide a seamless strategic enrollment pipeline. Beyond the initial lead for those
seeking a career pathway, the Coordinator works with the Enrollment Management Team and faculty to assist students into the strategic
enrollment management pipeline, prevent inappropriate career choices, lower student debt, increase student completion, and reduce the time
consumed by a major change. The Coordinator serves as a resource to students, the campus community and its stakeholders, the Center for
Workforce and Economic Development, and the community at large for emerging or open jobs and careers. Enrollment Management develops and
enacts strategies that lead to the campus’ viability. We do this from the perspective of enhancing the experience of our students from the
point of recruitment through graduation and into a career. Under the direction of the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management,
the Executive Director of Admissions and Registrar, and the Coordinator must be fully embracing of a learner-centered culture and the
President’s Vision for the future of Mesalands. The Coordinator plans and executes comprehensive and timely strategies that advances
MCC’s mission and strategic goals with College stakeholders informed by the College’s core values: integrity, excellence, empowerment,
inclusiveness, collaboration, and stewardship.

Language skills:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal
skills a must. Ability to read and interpret texts related to the discipline; documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions; and procedure manuals. Ability to write required reports and correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present
information to individuals and groups of students and others from within Mesalands Community College and out in the community.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
Reasoning
ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical
problems. Technology skills: Computer Competency; Capable of applying and maneuvering within various software packages including but not
limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job. The employee is required to walk, stand, sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with
hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and lift; and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, depending on the discipline area.
