Seeking to hire an Accounting Manager for a Direct Hire role in Wheeling, IL.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations within the organization, with a specific focus on accounts payable and month-end close. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and team management. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Job Duties:

• Oversees the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all closing entries and account reconciliations.
• Oversees all aspects of accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor relations, and payment disbursements.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings in conjunction with the external CPA firm.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and tax filings.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP).
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial analysis and support.

Job Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Supervisory skills with ability to mentor, develop and motivate team members
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Ability to communicate with various levels of management
• Accuracy and attention to detail
