My client is an elementary and middle school located in Long Island City, Queens that serves about 650 students across grades K-8.
Job Description
I. Staffing
a. Responsible for the org-wide Table of Organization and collaborating with school
directors on staffing needs & decisions to ensure that staff resources are allocated to
best serve the mission, which may include but is not limited to facilitating retention
strategies, updating he table of org, reviewing/consulting on directors’ recruiting priorities
II. Performance Management
a. Empower and provide direct support to leaders and managers to ensure they can
effectively manage talent within their teams, which may include but is not limited to
providing input on leaders’ development plans and providing consultation
III. Employee Relations and Staff Culture
a. Lead org-wide Employee Relations practice to ensure that staff culture is collaborative
& inclusive, embodies the org values, fosters collegiality & trust, is legally compliant
IV. Compensation & Benefits
a. Partnering with the Senior Finance Manager on Compensation to ensure that employee
rewards are competitive, relevant, and fair, which may include but is not limited to
incorporating market research, developing compensation logic/scales, consulting with
Finance on budget feasibility
V. Human Resources
a. Responsible for ensuring the org-wide Personnel Policies are legally compliant, fair,
and reflect the values, which may include but is not limited to supervising HR
Coordinator around annual change proposal process, overseeing roll-out of policies,
liaising w/legal counsel and HR/Talent Committee as appropriate, collaborating with and

The Successful Applicant
Educational Background and Work Experience
? Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
? 5-7 years of HR, talent management, or school management experience with increasing
responsibilities and achievements
? Experience managing and developing teams and individuals
? Experience working in a nonprofit organization or school
? Preferred: Master’s degree in business, HR, education, or a related field from an accredited
college or university
? Preferred: PHR/SPHR certification
? Preferred: Previous experience working within the K-12 education sector, or familiarity with
talent management issues and the talent challenges facing urban schoolsBehavioral Qualifications
