Position Summary:

This individual will be responsible for processing orders from receipt through invoicing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.  The Production/Shipping Coordinator position works closely with other blend team members, customer service and our sales team. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong attention to detail and experience with order processing. The successful candidate in this position will gain a sound understanding of our customers, products, processes and systems; opening doors to alternate career paths within Microbial Discovery Group. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute the order processing tasks including order entry, order acknowledgements, label preparation, shipment arrangement, shipment notifications, invoicing and maintaining completed order records. 
• Enter new customer data and update existing accounts in the corporate database. 
• Participate in production meetings. 
• Monitor inventory levels, order packaging and /ingredients as needed. 
• Identify alternate suppliers to facilitate competitive pricing discussions. 
• Process AP invoices for payment. 
• Generate reporting of KPIs related to production. 
• Assist in packaging prospect research and contact prospects via direct mail and electronic contact software.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Majority of work is conducted in a fermentation production facility and includes frequent exposure to wet, humid, dusty, and noisy conditions.
• Work includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, walking, as well as occasional scooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• May be exposed to airborne particles and chemicals used in fermentation production facilities.

• Mandated use of company-issued uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
