Job Summary/Basic Function
Millersville University invites applications for the Director of Environmental Health & Safety. Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Facilities, the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for the development, management, and implementation of the EHS programs for the university. This EHS Director is responsible for providing technical guidance, operational program management and expert advice and direction to the entire campus community.
The EHS Director will implement and maintain a proactive and comprehensive process for identifying and effectively managing the risk of physical and behavior-based hazards to people, property, and the environment, provide oversight, development and direction for a variety of compliance programs including managing the day-to-day operations, assist departments with compliance requirements for existing and new regulations issued by federal, state, and municipal agencies, and provide guidance for implementing PASSHE and university policies.
The EHS Director will provide leadership on all aspects of environmental health and safety and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making relevant to Millersville University’s physical and occupational environment, serve in an operational and strategic role in actively planning, preparing, and managing emergency responses to diverse situations.
