JOB SUMMARY

Mirus Bio is expanding and has an immediate opening for an experienced Account Manager. This position is an outstanding opportunity to drive growth through current and new business opportunities. With the proper mentoring and training provided, you will learn about our products and industry, the objective is to strengthen incremental sales revenue growth with new and existing customers. In this Account Manager role, you will primarily be responsible for achieving the sales quota for the research product portfolio. This is a full-time, remote position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieving annual product sales goals set for the territory
• Interfacing primarily via in person meetings but also via telephone and email with existing and prospective customers in the assigned territory.
• Developing and executing successful sales strategies for rapid revenue growth and market share expansion in territory
• Maintaining accurate and timely opportunity funnel and customer data in customer relationship management (CRM) portal (e.g., Salesforce)
• Working with prospective and current customers to increase Mirus Bio awareness, influence, and presence across territories
• Collaborating with Product Management, Applications and Technical Support, Customer Service, Product Management Operations and Shipping to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts
• Assessing competition and customer feedback to understand our success or failure in the market and suggesting changes to our products, messaging, and customer support for improvement
• Staying abreast of the latest trends in the field via literature and personal communications with researchers and other life science suppliers.
• Attending trade shows inside and outside of sales territory from time to time
• Developing leadership, mentorship, exemplary work ethic, and model behavior consistent with Mirus Bio core values

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or a life sciences-related field, or commensurate work experience
• MBA or Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or a life sciences-related discipline, commensurate experience preferred

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years bioprocess sales experience required
• Experience working within bioprocessing industry, an exceptional ability to operate at the intersection of science and business, and drive value creation through external innovation
• Highly driven, proactive individual with a strong motivation to succeed and drive business growth
• Comfortable making numerous phone calls, including unsolicited calls (i.e., “cold calls”) to prospective customers
• Experience working directly with transfection, electroporation, and viral transduction workflows is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce or other)
• Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills
• Effective in opportunity management, problem-solving, and organization
• Comfortable with setting and upholding deadlines, working in a cross-functional team setting
• Approachable, friendly personality and ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment
• Product management, marketing, or technical support experience in a life sciences company is a plus
