Morada Senior Living is hiring a Division Human Resource Director to support our communities in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
The Division Human Resource (HR) Director position is responsible for delivering best in class human resources to Morada Senior Living (DSL) communities, further positioning Morada for continued growth and profitability by identifying, cultivating, attracting and retaining the absolute best talent in every market served. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and within the HR department and Morada management, seeks to develop and implement integrated solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develops strong relationships with Morada leadership team for effective communication.
Collaborates with HR team to develop and maintain core human resource programs, such as handbooks, job descriptions, performance appraisal systems, compensation evaluations, and best management practices.
Assists in developing HR systems aligned with the team member life cycle that drive Morada culture and help achieve visionary outcomes by recruiting, hiring and retaining top talent. Works closely with Oasis HR to request assistance and access to HR systems and tools.
Creates and implements standardized Team Member orientation and mentorship programs.
Pro-actively identifies areas of legal exposure, and provide assistance and guidance, i.e. FLSA, Title VII, FMLA, etc.
Serves as contact for Oasis HR (Professional Employer Organization) as needed on leave of absence and unemployment matters for assigned Region.
Assists managers and other supervisors with Team Member discipline and corrective action, hiring, promotion and discharge techniques to promote satisfactory Team Member relations in which to reduce the probability of future unjust discharge or discrimination claims. Uses discretion to determine if review of written documentation prior to disseminating to the Team Member is needed.
Develops proactive initiatives and problem solving to meet the company’s human resource needs and provide value added services.
Coordinates filing of Employment Practices Liability claims (EPLI) as needed with Oasis HR. Assists with investigations and data gathering for EPLI claim response.
Participates in annual needs analysis with HR and Morada Executive team. Performs HR audit for respective Region annually to assess compliance and strategic needs.
Provides tools to support the hiring process by providing behavioral interviewing guidelines, application templates, pre-employment testing information, and recruiting assistance.
Provides tools to support the termination process by advising on best practices and alternatives to separation, and template separation agreements.
Monitors and analyzes trends in turnover and other key employment metrics. Develops recommendations accordingly.
Conducts investigations related to allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Provides summary of investigation, along with recommendations to SVP of HR.
Assists in investigation and resolution of Team Member grievances and coordinates processes of responding to complaints.
Conducts new manager/supervisor orientations on compliance issues, such as harassment and work-related injuries.
Makes recommendations and assists with the performance of formal training programs, such as harassment and management best practices.
Assists with onboarding and transitioning new communities. Works closely with Oasis HR on this process to mitigate team member disruption.
Provides onsite training for management and Team Members as needed. Recommends talent development plan options for Team Members and managers.
Is consistently at work and on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
Travel is a regular expectation of this position. The Regional HR Manager must be willing and able to travel regularly to the home office and other locations as requested.
Qualifications:
Required
Five years+ of related, demonstrated experience in human resources or a related field.
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business management or a related field.
Preferred
Must be certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP within one year of meeting current HRCI or SHRM qualifications to test for certification.
