Basic Eligibility For A Position With The NRO
NRO positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C.

MOD is the single National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) entity that operates all NRO systems to deliver intelligence value to national decision makers, the Intelligence Community, and warfighters. The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a key member of the NRO leadership team, and maintains an accurate pulse and active stance on all staff and administrative activities. The NRO consists of military, civilian, and contractor workforce responsible for operating satellite programs. The CoS works closely with partner organizations to include NASA, NGA, and joint service counterparts for host-tenant support. In addition, the CoS is responsible for effective communications with internal and external partners, and stakeholders, while also managing the activities that support the NRO for the smooth orchestration of the day-to-day operations. The CoS allocates resources and establishes procedures & priorities to ensure unit readiness to accomplish the assigned mission.
