Navistar Defense Hiring for Plant HR Manager at West Point, MS Full Time

Navistar Defense is a respected company with a long history of producing military vehicles for US troops and allies, and we are also branching out into commercial manufacturing. We are growing quickly and are seeking an HR Manager in West Point, MS to manage all HR functions at our manufacturing plant. This position will be supervised by the VP of Human Resources who is located in Madison Heights, MI, and will partner with one HR Administrator at the West Point site.

Looking for an HR generalist who has had experience as the lead HR professional for a location, shift or team, and who believes HR’s role is to partner with supervisors and employees so that everyone can succeed together. Must have a positive and helpful approach to managing a workforce.

Should have experience in most the following areas:

• Helping Supervisors resolve employee performance issues by providing them guidance with regards to best supervisory practices, employment law, and policies and procedures.
• Reinforcing policies and procedures within the workforce by monitoring compliance and addressing issues as they occur.
• Delivering and tracking trainings
• Monitoring payroll and timeclock punches
• Coordinating employee engagement functions (events, raffles, lunches, etc.)
• Executing onboarding and off boarding activities for employees, including background checks, E-Verify, etc.
• Explaining employee benefits
• Tracking HR metrics such as absences, turnover, trainings, certifications, etc.

Requirements include:

• A 2 or 4 yr degree, or certification, in HR is required (10+ years of experience in HR may substitute for education)
• 3-5 yrs HR Generalist experience required
• Experience in manufacturing environment desired, but not required
• General knowledge of employment laws, including EEOC, Benefits/Leave, and Wage and Hour law
• Ability to be discreet, confidential, and professional at all times
• Extremely detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in general functions of Word and Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
