At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) deliver incredible care that is unseen anywhere else in the world. Our team of over 70 CRNAs provide patient-centered anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures, including cardiac, vascular, neurosurgery and pediatrics.
Bring your passion for team building and drive excellence across the anesthesia department. Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Perioperative Services, be responsible for managing the delivery of all anesthesiology services across the correlating NYP sites. Have strategic oversight for both Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and as well as all supporting anesthesia technical support functions. Ensure quality services are provided in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure department operates within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Be responsible for safe and proper operation and quality control of equipment, techniques, and procedures; and analyze and evaluate activities to assure established quality patient care.
Essential Job Duties
Directs the planning, delegation and scheduling of anesthesiology functions in conjunction with site-specific campus leaders.
Develops and maintains quality improvement programs for the anesthesia department in collaboration with hospital programs.
Plans and coordinates education of students and facility in-service educational activities. Attends hospital conferences and committee functions and serves as an interdepartmental liaison.
Manages all facets of department specific staffing plans to ensure hospital operational needs are met according to patient caseload.
Coordinates student nurse anesthetist program with for all clinical affiliations.
Manages capital and operating budget inclusive of assessing cost saving interventions for NYPH in collaboration with Finance, Service Line Administrators and other related departments.
Provides input on Perioperative capital and operating budgeting, as well.
Works in collaboration with Chief CRNA/Assistant Chief CRNA and Anesthesia Tech leads to ensure Anesthesia Tech workflow and responsibilities.
Responsible for the recruitment, selection, and orientation of employees in assigned areas. Provides work direction, assigns and/or schedules work, conduct on-the-job training, answers job related questions.
Monitors performance of Chief CRNAs and adherence to associated attendance policies.
Prepares performance evaluations for Chief CRNAs and Anesthesia Tech Supervisors (would be Senior CRNA/Assistant Chiefs if reporting structure changes) and recommends appropriate personnel actions for staff, relative to promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action up to and including terminations.
Assists in the interpretation, development and implementation of Hospital personnel and departmental policies and procedures.
Performs clinical duties inherent to CRNA role as schedule demands and in keeping with requirements for CRNA certification
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
Preferred Criteria
Doctoral Degree
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Required Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university
Master’s Degree
Graduate from accredited Anesthesia School
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
Certified by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Minimum of seven years of related experience
Minimum of five years’ experience in a managerial capacity

Salary Range:
$320,000-$375,000/Annual
