.Net Developer – Hybrid

Client: IN- IDOH (Indiana Department of Health)
· This position will provide senior level application systems support for the Laboratory Information Management System (STARLIMS) at the Indiana Department of Health, Laboratory division. Resource will work as part of an application systems development team as well as independently on projects.
· This position will be responsible for maintenance and development of STARLIMS, including the creation of instrument interfaces and other related LIMS operations. This position will also be responsible for providing maintenance support to existing systems such as LimsNet, a web-based tool used to communicate between the lab and submitters. Participate in functional requirements definition, meet with users to understand requirements, data collection and implement the requirements. Ability to troubleshoot production issues and fix them as and when they occur.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for support of the LimsNet application and the LIMS API using ASP.Net and Oracle skills
2. Support the transition of the LIMS system from Oracle to SQL Server.
3. Assist internal users with STARLIMS application.
4. Provide technical assistance for outbound HL7 messages to CDC, D-REX and PHINMS using the Rhapsody application.
5. Responsible for configuration of new assays in STARLIMS and creation of scripts to import instrument data files to STARLIMS.
6. Solve production technical issues with STARLIMS, LimsNet and related systems
7. Help with development and troubleshooting of Advanced Analytics (Tableau) reports as needed.
8. Create data extracts for insurance billing, institutional billing, and grant requirements.
Job Requirements:
1. Seven (7) years, full-time professional work experience in an Information Technology environment with additional LIMS experience.
2. Proficient with one or more of the following: SQL Server, Oracle DB, ASP.Net
3. Proficient at writing SQL Server stored procedures in T-SQL.
4. STARLIMS knowledge preferred.
5. Tableau knowledge preferred.
6. Four (4) years accredited college training in Information Technology or related field; or a Certificate in Information Technology is preferred but not required.
7. Advanced knowledge of the information systems development life cycle, information technology
8. Thorough knowledge of enterprise security practices.
9. Ability to work in a team environment
10. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
11. Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships with internal and external customers, and vendors.
12. Ability to prioritize projects and address immediate technical needs as they arise.
Difficulty of Work:
Work assignments involve the successful completion of assigned projects in LIMSNET or STARLIMS. Analyze the report requirements provided by management and implement the same using a suitable tool. Good judgment and specialized knowledge are required to resolve problems and achieve the desired program goals. Work assignments also require independent, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. The incumbent must have good communication skills and the ability to understand the program area’s business functions, as well as its IT support needs.
Responsibility:
Position works independently following general guidelines of agency management to ensure compliance with the agency’s overall IT policies, procedures, initiatives, and goals. Unusual problems or departures from the normal guidelines are discussed with the team lead and division management as required and as appropriate on relevant matters. Work is reviewed for achievement of program area goals and objectives, compatibility with agency mission and project plans, as well as general effectiveness of the IT support provided.
Personal Work Relationships:
The position works with LIMS Project Manager as well as lab staff for developing and implementing changes to the LIMS systems. These contacts have an important role in the development and ongoing systems maintenance
Physical Effort:
Position requires long hours in front of a computer. Occasionally moves PCs or monitors.
Working Conditions:
Most work is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment.

Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour
