The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work, through the Social Work Office of Research and Public Service (SWORPS) is accepting applications for an IT Administrator/Analyst II – Front End Developer. This position works with an established and growing IT team to provide web-based database applications and other technology solutions for grant funded projects These projects require application design, digital design, wireframing, dashboard developer, and web development. This position would work closely with other developers, system administrators, and IT managers to create front-end application design and user interface design. Other duties as required.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
User Interface Design and Development
Independently design web-based database applications
Work closely with internal and external customers to design web-based database application interfaces, application interfaces, and interactive websites
Work closely with customers through formal development process including wireframing, design, development
Create user interfaces for web-based database applications using HTML, CSS, ASP.NET Visual Studio
Follow responsive web development, application security, and accessibility best practices
Front-end Development
Work closely with development team to create user interface design
Develop front end features of web-based database applications using Visual Studio, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS
Provide dashboard development and data visualization
Provide digital design and development expertise as key member of development team
Work directly with customers to gather requirements and create wireframes and digital design for web-based database applications
Work closely and collaboratively with development team to integrate front end development with back-end development
Position Requirements:
Visual Studio, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS required. Senior level Adobe Suite knowledge required. Demonstrated skill with web development and front-end development including knowledge of HTML and CSS required. Ability to perform front-end development in cooperation with other ASP.NET developers. Business and/or technical writing skill. Ability to gather requirements, design digital and print products. Ability to communicate effectively in English through written, spoken, and electronic methods.
Preferred requirements:
Microsoft SQL Server knowledge preferred. PHP experience preferred. Experience developing web based human service database applications preferred.
