This position supports the Division and industry in meeting national health requirements and state permitting requirements related to shellfish aquaculture. Key Responsibilities: Contact and meet shellfish aquaculture participants in the field to comprehensively review the health aspects of their shellfish cultivation process.Assist with aquaculture permitting activities and compliance related to health requirements.Serve as an expert and resource to shellfish lease and franchise holders, shellfish harvesters, shellfish industry groups, Marine Patrol, other state agencies, and the public regarding education and best management practices related to shellfish cultivation and public health.Coordination of research, data gathering and interpretation, and reports related to shellfish cultivation and health issues.Carrying out or arranging any necessary maintenance on sampling vehicles, boats, motors, trailers, and other equipment to meet the requirements of preventative maintenance schedules. The DMF’s jurisdiction encompasses all coastal waters and extends to 3 miles offshore.
