Description
The Mobile Developer reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Mobile Developer will be part of an agile team delivering mobile solutions. Responsibilities: – Design, specification, implementation and testing of software in an agile development process – Software integration and customization – Creation of technical documentation – Diagnosis of problems and performance analysis Competencies: Non-technical – Responsible for hands-on coding as well as mentoring junior developers – Assist in onboarding and training new team members – Contribute to the vision, roadmap, and open source plan for all applications, libraries, modules, and tools built – Participate in grooming sessions with technical leads to give technical input and time estimates – Providesupport in project, ad hock status / issues meetings and conference calls – Assist in preparing and keeping up-to-date all development tools and documentation per NM mobile standards and best practices – Assist in the development of use cases and other pre-development tasks – Contribute to the evolution of application development toolsets, source control, security model and full lifecycle management Technical – Develop mobile applications/components based on documented requirements – Must be able to think analytically to analyze requirements and design a logical, maintainable framework for all new features before starting to code – Debug and do root cause analysis of critical business and production issues. – Must be able to document code inline and with supporting documentation as requested – Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services (REST, SOAP, JSON), ETL jobs, and APIs (service-oriented architectures) – Experience implementing unit-tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. – Perform upgrades and maintenance while modifying existing software to improve performance and correct errors – Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. – Support in tasks to create, manage and automate continuous testing, integration, and delivery – Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation – Understands and practices agile application development methodologies
Qualifications
Required: – 2-4 years of developing and engineering applications as a full-stack and/or mobile developer – Must have solid understanding in one of the following technology areas: Swift, Objective-C, iOS SDK, XCode orKotlin, Java, Android SDK, Android Studio Preferred: – Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field – Thorough understanding of Xcode IDE, Swift, and Objective-C. – Thorough understanding of Android development and framework – Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, UIKit, Core Animation, Grand Central Dispatch, NSOperation, Background Operations, and Foundation Libraries – Understanding of Apples design principles and interface guidelines – Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools such as Instruments – Familiarity with cloud message APIs and Push Notificationssetup and implementation – Solid understanding of object-oriented development and MVVM design pattern – Working experience with Agile planning and development methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous delivery – Experience using Kanban board tools like TFS, BitBucket, or GitHub – Experience in Test-Driven Development, Continuous Testing, Integration, and Deployment – Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standardsa plus – 3 years of Agile experience a plus
