We are looking for a dynamic HR Generalist to work onsite 2-3 days per week at our LJ Smith Bowerston, OH location!
Position Summary
The person in this position is responsible for managing the administrative Human Resources functions of the facility including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employment law and is a liaison with Corporate Human Resources.
Essential Responsibilities
* Processes all paperwork for new employees, ensuring employee data is entered into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
* Manages facility’s payroll records utilizing the time and attendance system and ensures timely submission of verified records to Payroll.
* Processes and manages workers’ compensation claims, FMLA claims, leaves of absence and fulfilling OSHA requirement for the facility.
* Assists in implementing the safety program to minimize risk and foster a safe workplace.
* Assists and advises Operations Management in processing employee grievances, making appropriate referrals and offering resources when suitable.
* Maintains the required federal, state and local labor posters and notices.
* Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
* Five years of Human Resources experience in related manufacturing or distribution environment.
* Effective communication, both written and oral. Ability to communicate with all levels of employees including management.
* Administrative and organizational skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Proven interpersonal skills.
* Appropriate sense of urgency.
* Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Travel Requirements
* Less than 10%.
* Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
