Position Summary:
Responsible for the daily activities, to include coordination of entire Human Resources function(s), supervision and evaluation of the Human Resources Department. Coordinates all Human Resources advice and services regarding education, compensation, benefits, employment, employee relations, labor relations, and employment law. Able to successfully work with conflict resolution. Be a resource to Management on HR leadership.
Works collaboratively with all members of the management team and towards achievement of the Oak Valley Hospital District (OVHD) goals and objectives. Provides on-going leadership in the areas of financial accountability, personal development, and quality care/service for assigned areas and functions.
The Director of Human Resources is a member of the management team and has a responsibility to assist in the development of programs and services that will enhance the effective utilization of its human resources.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred. Four (4) years’ of comparable work experience may be substituted for a four-year degree
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Five (5) years’ of progressive work experience in Human Resources with a minimum
of three (3) years’ supervisory experience required, preferably in a hospital setting
Experience should include at least three (3) years’ experience in employee relations
Working within a Regional HR structure preferred
Proficient in Human Resources Information Systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel
Analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Human Resources practice and theory
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and possess good presentation skills
Ability to work independently and work well with all levels of management and employees
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
