Human Resources Manager

Southern California’s premier commercial HVAC provider, seeks a new member for our corporate team in Ontario, CA.

The Human Resources Manager will report directly to the President. The Human Resources Manager will carry out responsibilities in various aspects of human resources including onboarding/off-boarding, benefits, worker’s compensation, safety, & OSHA and HR compliance reporting. The right candidate will possess a solid understanding of HR practices, have an ownership attitude, and view no task as too large or too small.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE INVOLVE?

Benefits

• Administers all benefits
• Facilitates enrollment and modifications to benefits
• Acts as liaison between employees and insurance company
• Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

Risk Management

• Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Manage all worker’s compensation claims & reporting requirements
• Manage the OSHA reporting process

Onboarding/Off-boarding

• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Coordinating new hire procedures including background investigations
• Conducting new employee orientations
• Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Conduct terminations or act as witness to terminations
• Conduct and document exit interviews

Other

• Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Maintain accurate records and personnel files
• Ensure accuracy of payroll/system data
• Manage all leaves of absences
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Coordinate company-sponsored events
• Act as backup for receptionist when needed

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of human resource management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and practices in CA, AZ and NV, including Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, various leave laws, and discrimination laws

Preferred Requirements (Optional)

• PHR or SHRM Certification is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
