Accountant (Part-Time)

The Accountant performs duties to ensure proper and accurate reconciliation of clients’ banking and ledger information and supports the Client by processing and recording transactions, preparing reports, and communicating with clients and client contacts.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring all banking and accounting system activities to detect irregularities.
• Providing feedback to the Account Owner(s) regarding how to improve internal controls and pinpoint areas where risks relating to banking transactions can be minimized.
• Providing documentation for the purpose of supporting all financial transactions.
• Preparing monthly reconciliation reports regarding all bank transactions.
• Assisting auditors – internal and external – with documentation required for the auditors to do their job satisfactorily.
• Performing all reconciliation and verification of accounts.
• Documenting financial transactions by entering account information.
• Reconciling and processing transactions that are complex in nature.
• Maintaining required files, reports, and data.
• Maintaining contact with the Account Manager regarding all account activity.
• Following up on all transactions continuously and providing updates to the management, as necessary and when required
• Adhering to company standards and procedures in all activities.
• Improving personal skill set regarding software proficiency, financial analysis, and data processing.
• Filing all prepared accounts in a well-organized manner.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close process for multiple clients
• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Communicating effectively with clients.
• Contributing to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel.
• Communicating with Account Manager and/or Account Owner on work status and client issues that arise.
• Answering client or Account Manager questions regarding any financial issues.
• Working directly with Payable and Receivable specialists to ensure all transactions are posted in a timely manner.
• Performing all other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the company.

Requirements

Candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• Experience creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Accounting software user and administration skills
• Exemplify solid communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with others, both verbally and in writing.
• A customer service orientation and good negotiation skills.
• Display problem-solving skills even in stressful situations and under deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in G Suite.
• Ability to effectively manage their own time and that of others.
• Ability to work well with others to achieve organizational goals.

Pay Scale Based on Experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour
