SUMMARY
The Human Resources Administrator’s primary responsibility is overseeing the hiring and separation processes and administering payroll for hourly employees. The administrator will also assist the Human Resources Leader in all Human Resources related tasks. This position is in support of the Human Resources Department and the Plant Leadership Team to assist them in meeting desired outcomes. The Human Resources Administrator will coordinate various plant wide events and projects that will involve our employees concerning benefits, engagements, communication and any other item designated by the management team. This position reports to the Human Resources Leader.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
SAFETY
Follow and enforce all safety rules, regulations, procedures, training, and initiatives
Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas
Participate on safety teams
HUMAN RESOURCES AND PAYROLL
Administer HRIS including Talent Center and Kronos, to enter and track recruiting, job changes, employee time and pay, assign learning, record training, track HR metrics, and generate HR and payroll reports.
Administer payroll and attendance requirements weekly and resolve any payroll discrepancies
Train all necessary persons in Kronos WFC and the temporary employee timekeeping system
Monitor vacation/holiday time used and accrued
Maintain and update employee files following company document retention guidelines
Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as needed
Conduct new hire, benefits, and visitor orientations, as required
Maintain and post all internal hourly job postings
Interface with outside agencies on issues including health care and other benefits, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and charitable contributions, and employee and community events
Promote company and plant events and initiatives
Interact with Plant Management, Occupational Health Department, employees, and other support personnel concerning Human Resource issues
Coordinate wellness events and physical examinations related to hiring and retention including drug/alcohol screening
Maintain employee personnel files, information systems and report as required
Manage service awards program
Coordinate lunches, meetings, celebrations, and outings for special occasions
Assist HR Leader and other plant departments as required
Improve HR processes
Administer Employee Handbook and Plant/Company Policies
Lead plant teams such as wellness, engagement, or employee inclusion teams
Administer tests, training, and surveys
Cover reception area and perform as backup to other support roles, as required
MANAGE FRONT OFFICE
Maintain office supplies as needed
Handle incoming mail
Arrange site lunches as required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing) with a variety of people of different levels
Good listening and comprehension skills
Analytic and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple objectives and attention to detail
Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality on sensitive matters
Tolerance for stress
Ability to do basic mathematical calculations
Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility are required
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
Ability to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
Proficiency operating a computer and other keyboard instruments, utilizing Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Proficiency or ability to learn PeopleSoft, Kronos, and Success Factors
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent required; Two year associates/technical degree preferred.
Coordination or administration experience required; preference is in Human Resources
Experience interacting with employees at all levels within the organization
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work extended / flexible hours as required
Sit / stand / walk for prolonged periods of time
Use computer equipment for extended periods of time.
