POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for administering a variety of HR functions and processes such as company-wide DOT drug testing and random testing, Maintain accurate record keeping of drivers in the pull program, Recruiting, and onboarding processes at Pacific Coast Companies, Inc.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Human Resources Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes all of the following and other duties may be assigned.
· Administers the Company Drug and Alcohol Policy and program to include but not limited to reporting results to management, advising HR Representatives and location managers of procedures on employees that fail drug tests, and complying with DOT regulations.
· Maintain and enter DOT drivers in FMCSA Clearinghouse and ensure accurate record keeping of drivers in the pull program.
· Answers routine to moderately complex employee questions regarding pre-employment screens & drug testing. Performs general office duties such as, distributing and mailing of office circulation and other correspondence, ordering of office supplies and inventory, answering/attending to phone calls.
· Assist with recruiting process. This includes assisting with job postings, managing requisitions, and pre-screening candidates.
· Conducting other pre-employment inquiries, such as reference and background checks.
· Maintaining new hire paperwork and other on-boarding materials.
· Conducts New Hire orientations and onboarding processes, Maintaining new hire paperwork and other on-boarding materials.
· Process background and drug testing invoices for subsidiaries.
· Updates, organizes and posts HR forms on the Intranet site.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Education/Experience: Education/Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or n three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training.
· Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. n Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. n Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, co-workers and vendors. n Ability to be bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
· Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. n Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. n Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
· Computer Skills: Must be able to operate a personal computer and other various standard office machines and equipment necessary to complete duties.
