Responsibilities:
Under direction, the Senior Accountant is responsible for maintenance, analysis and verification of Synchrony’s financial records and preparation of financial and statistical reports. The Senior Accountant may provide guidance and support to lower-level accounting personnel and is assigned tasks moderately complex in nature.
Duties
1. Prepares/inputs journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
2. Analyzes and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts monthly and maintains appropriate supporting documentation of assigned accounts
3. Generates and distributes monthly financial and statistical reports to management and facility personnel
4. Generates ad-hoc reports and assists management with interpretation and analysis of such reports
5. Assists in the review of financial statements for proper accounting treatment of revenue and expense items
6. Consults with Company personnel on accounting-related issues
7. Provides accounting-related training to Company personnel as needed
8. Prepares audit schedules and other reports for external auditors.
9. Assists in creating annual business plans
10. Assists management team with special projects
11. Minimal travel including overnight stay as necessary
12. Complies with all laws, regulations, and standards of ethical conduct
13. Leads by Example (LBE), upholds and promotes the culture, mission and values of the Company.
14. Performs all job duties with a friendly positive and team-oriented approach.
15. Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities.
16. Complies with all Company policies, procedures, rules, and standards
