Position Overview

This Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for directing all of the people functions of the company in accordance with Perficut policies and best practices. The HR Generalist is responsible for strategic human resource planning to provide the company with the best talent available and to position the company by being aware of policies, practices and trends in the industry.

Day-to-Day Stuff:

• Lead the hiring process by developing job descriptions, qualifying interview questions, ads, arranging, conducting, scheduling interviews and managing related applicant paperwork.
• Maintain employee records in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and related systems.
• Lead orientation and all paperwork for new hires, including new hire files.
• Lead management and administration of various benefits plans, including open enrollment, enrolling employees, employee change requests and verifications.
• Develop, review and approve performance evaluations for all employees.
• Develop, review and approve corrective actions for all employees.
• Conduct exit interviews.
• Approve and audit benefit bills including health, dental, life insurance and auxiliary products.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding various HR questions and requests.
• Build and maintain well rounded employee management relationships between the executive team, department managers, supervisors, and employees.
• Serve as a mediator for employee relation issues.
• Respond to employment verifications for written and phone requests.
• Attend job fairs for recruiting needs.
• Develop and maintain HR department reports.
• Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, payroll and company policies.
• Monitor and report violations of standard HR practices to the HR and executive level leaders.
• Update and maintain PTO for all employees.
• Oversee workers compensation cases.
• Oversee all unemployment cases and participates in unemployment hearings.
• Manage DOT/CDL drug and alcohol screening process.
• Oversees drug and lift screen testing for new hire employees and company standards.
• Manages MVR list in tandem with insurance provider and maintains eligibility database.
• Update and maintain company policies and procedures for Employee Handbook.
• Create and distribute new hire employee job offers.
• Oversees monthly compliance certification/licenses. Send communication out to employees who need to renew or enroll.
• Safety Project to include being an active and essential part of the Safety Committee and always maintaining a proactive approach to safety.
• Technology onboarding/off boarding.
• Update and maintain company disciplinary program.
• Handles all aspects of employment separations.
• Coordinate company events including birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and monthly company activities and contests.

Characteristics Needed to Succeed:

• 3-5 years of experience in a progressively more challenging HR role.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Strong experience in Office Suites – emphasis in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in working HRIS and ATS systems.
• Experience in developing HR reports and managing HR dashboards.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret effectively with Perficut staff and customers.
• Mental capabilities to learn, comprehend, and communicate both orally and in writing.
• Logical thinking, the ability to manage multiple tasks and common sense are also necessary to accomplish tasks.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machine
