Pieper-Houston Electric Hiring For Accounting Assistant | A/R at Houston, TX Full Time

Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Accounting Associate to join our team at Pieper-Houston Electric L.P. This role reports to our CFO and will primarily assist in the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate should possess a strong accounting background and eagerness to learn.

Job Responsibilities:

May include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs general accounting duties as assigned.
• Completes basic data entry tasks including logging transactions and other information.
• Assists in processing invoices and verifying financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.
• Ensures payments are made to vendors in a timely manner.
• Support project accounting functions, including job costing and progress billing.
• Assists with tax compliance reporting and payments.
• Participates in month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Supports audits and maintains compliance with regulatory requirements in the construction industry.
• Assists in preparing financial reports, statements, and analyses related to project performance and overall company finances.
• Collaborates with other departments and researches information as needed.

Requirements:

• A college degree in a business-related field is preferred, but not required.
• 2+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project financial management.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Procore) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data effectively.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
• CPA certification or progress toward certification is advantageous.
