ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages daily benefits processing such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and wellness claims, 401(k) distributions, loans and hardships.
Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system and/or assist employees with completing paperwork for benefit enrollment.
Process employee benefit related information into HRMS to include updates to benefit eligible new hires and the processing of LOAs and Terminations.
Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Enrolls employees with carriers and process all qualifying events – life status changes (Married, Divorced, Birth, Death, Loss of Benefits (Employment/Age Out).
Review/audit weekly data file feeds to US Enrollments for accuracy and completeness, resolving all discrepancies and omissions.
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRMS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
Assist in managing the Annual Health Fair, Open Enrollment meetings, and processing employee changes during open enrollment.
Coordinate the company’s compliance activities for leaves; Family Medical Leave ACT (FMLA) leaves, Military Leaves, Personal Leaves, Short Term Disability (STD) benefits, Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits, American Disability Act (ADA) benefits.
HR liaison for workers’ compensation claims.
Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Process weekly contribution changes and inform payroll of changes.Participate in 401(K) Quarterly Meetings
Assist in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
Support processing and submission of death notices/claims to 401k and Life Insurance providers. Assist Claimants with claim processes.
Support processing and submission of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO), as received with 401(k) Plan Administrator(s).
Conducts audits assuring accuracy of data and compliance of established policies, rules and regulations.
Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
Participate in developing new internal processes relating to functional area.
Assist with creation, update, and maintenance of operation documents (process procedures, SOPs/LSOPs, How to Steps) for department activities.
Assist with all plan communications and required scheduled notices.
Monitors COVID trends, reporting, and vaccine status of employees.
Perform other duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.

Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on proposals (RFPs).
Knowledge of benefits contract language.
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, USERRA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 – 5 years Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation-related experience and/or data analysis proficiency required.
Bachelors Degree (BS) a strong plus with 3 – 5 years of related experience, training / equivalent combination of education and experience. Required computer experience includes intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions from managers and the general public, be able to write reports, as well as business correspondence.
