The Office of Addiction and Recovery, housed at Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB), is a statewide planning and policy office that looks across the state enterprise, county and city governments, and multiple partners to make efforts to break down silos and work across entities to better target and coordinate the state’s role in addressing addiction, treatment, and recovery; look for interagency and inter-governmental opportunities for alignment; ¿provide oversight of programs; and ¿establish external partnerships and build relationships to inform the Office’s priorities, goals, and activities – fueling equitable, culturally-relevant, and enduring solutions for communities in the substance use disorder (SUD) continuum of care.
The Planning and Program Coordinator is responsible for working with the Assistant Commissioner/Executive Director and Deputy of the Office of Addiction and Recovery to provide administrative, consultative, and coordinative programmatic work for the Office of Addiction and Recovery, Governor’s Subcabinet on Opioids, Substance Use, and Addiction, and the Governor’s Advisory Council on Opioids, Substance Use, and Addiction.
As the Planning and Program Coordinator you will have the opportunity to assist state leaders by providing planning and coordination to ensure that the subcabinet and advisory council work is carried out effectively and efficiently; coordinating the implementation and oversight of the subcabinet’s public engagement framework; providing project management support in developing and monitoring new operational functions, processes, and tools to ensure the Office of Addiction and Recovery is achieving its objective and obligations; proposing innovative solutions to managing multiple workstreams and tasks to develop policies and strategies; and developing strategic communication and technical assistance materials for a variety of uses and audiences.
