This level of software engineer will work on backlog items, such as user stories and defect resolutions in priority order. They take direction from lead / architect but will oversee work and provide mentorship to lower level software engineers. This level will take a high level (and often vague) stories and break it down into small well-defined tasks and manage them to fruition. They have full latitude for independent judgment when applying skills and problem-solving capabilities, with input and minimal oversight required by lead, architect or supervisor. They update their job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.
This position collaborates with the development teams, Security, collaborative groups/clients and other cross-functional teams to define, provide for, and test deliverables. This position is specifically responsible for maintaining the HR and Payroll product that customers use in production. Prior software development experience with HR, benefits, and payroll software products is essential.

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $80,000 – $148,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
