Job Functions:
Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues
Conducts regular recurring meetings with assigned business groups
Leads or assists in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and programs
Advises management on the interpretation and application of HR policies and practices
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary actions.
Supports recruiting efforts by conducting interviews as necessary
Coordinates onboarding activities for all employees in assigned location
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Prepares reports and studies to meet business and corporate needs
Assists with assessment and development of strategies to address issues of workflow improvement and/or organization structure for assigned business group
Conducts periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures
Presents training sessions related to the assigned program or section area
Supports and implements corporate programs for assigned business groups, including performance management, compensation benchmarking and administration, benefits open enrollment, employee recognition programs, etc.
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention, embracing corporate values and culture that is an integral part of Propel’s continued growth and success.
Maintains employee personnel files and required compliance documentation
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
Supervises reception staff in assigned location
Knowledge and Skills:
A track record of successful hands-on partnership with management to implement HR programs and initiatives
Ability to work independently, yet in partnership with a corporate multi-state team
Takes initiative and thinks creatively
Attention to detail with strong process management and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and experience with HRIS and other HR systems
Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local legislation
Must maintain confidentiality, discretion and professionalism
Insurance industry experience would be highly valued
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
Minimum 5 years of progressive human resources experience
HR designations are valued
Other Requirements:
Occasional travel to corporate or branch offices is required, which may include overnight stays
