We are looking for an On-site People Operations Manager to support our client, a Sensory Playground in NYC. You will be the liaison between the agency and client, assisting with high volume staffing, scheduling, training, escalating any HR related information, and ensuring best on-site practices are being maintained at all times. (Client + Staff).

Communicate with on-site management to ensure proper coverage of shifts, staff breaks are being issued in accordance with NY State Law, and assisting to continue to build a strong relationship with the client as we grow to multi-units nationwide.

Expected schedule: Wednesday – Sunday (with exceptions/ requests off)

What to Expect:Scheduling:

• Recruit and prequalify staff for assignment/shifts
• Create schedule (partner with client for shifts)
• Send shifts to talent pool/employees (via email + assign on App)
• Notate staff confirmation of schedule each week
• Change, replace staff shifts as needed
• Manage any day of or night before call outs
• Adding last minute shift requests

Manager Gig Scheduling App:

• Build schedules
• Assign employees to shifts/roles
• Ensure employees are using the app to clock in and out, even for lunches, reminding them as needed
• Assist employees with troubleshooting any app issues

Payroll/HR Assistance:

• Audit timekeeping for each shift
• Text candidates, if needed, to get clarification on times/breaks (re: missing time out, etc)
• Create reports for payroll processing
• Assist HR with any additional payroll questions
• De-escalation of internal on-site issues (staff to staff or staff to management)

Additional Responsibilities:

• Daily communication with employees and client. Point of contact onsite for all employees questions/requests.
• Manage employee relations with employees (escalating or de-escalating when necessary).
• Communicate with employees about any attendance issues, helping to assign and monitoring probationary periods or terminations
• Ad hoc scheduling or additional responsibilities based on client needs for event programming or special assignments
• Provide feedback to management about improving processes and procedures
• Be onsite during trainings and initial onboarding for new employees.

Ideal Candidate:

• Prior experience hiring talent for retail or for events
• College degree in HR or Hospitality and/or related fields (Or equivalent work experience).
• Management of multi-use, multi-level experiential or entertainment venues a huge plus
• Experience managing employee relations
