General Summary
Leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Plans, directs and coordinates human resource activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources and to maintain the full scope of human resource functions. Assesses and anticipates Human Resources needs. This position reports to the Vice President.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manages employment and recruitment activities, on-boarding process, employee retention and terminations
2. Coordinates with temporary services providers for variable staffing needs
3. Manages and monitors performance management
4. Coordinates and communicates safety program, including OSHA reporting
5. Manages employee relations, including recognition program and other activities
6. Analyzes training needs to ensure employee development
7. Ensures compliance with legal requirements and serves as HIPAA, ADA, AAP, and EEOC coordinator
8. Coordinates with benefit providers for annual renewal of benefit programs
9. Administers employee benefits program
10. Maintains health and wellness strategy for employees
11. Creates and distributes employee communications
12. Administers discipline and assists in managing disputes including conducting internal investigations
13. Partners and consults with managers on organizational policies, such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, discrimination, etc. and makes recommendations as appropriate
14. Maintains employee records and confidentiality and compiles reports concerning personnel data
15. Develops and communicates company policies and procedures
16. Processes payroll for temporary and permanent employees
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Requires at least 8 years progressive human resources generalist experience
3. Hands-on responsibility for full scope of HR activities, including strategy, analysis and operations
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Excellent organizational and planning skills
6. Knowledge and ability to apply HR laws and regulations
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
8. Highly effective with perse groups
Preferred Qualifications
1. Advanced degree
2. Professional certification (PHR or SPHR)
3. Supervisory experience
Environment & Working Conditions
This position is generally performed indoors in an office or plant environment but may include some time in field settings.
