Summary: Manages the performance of the SunGold Horace production plant and the activities and behaviors of assigned employees producing the highest quality food grade consumer products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Delegates production supervision, plant maintenance, warehousing, and materials resource planning duties to assigned staff.
· Receives sales forecast information and promotional projects projections from SunGold sales and marketing teams.
· Participates in weekly SunGold division coordination meetings led by the Managing Director.
· Develops production plans to support timely shipping for all SunGold Horace products.
· Ensures products are produced in accordance with product specifications, and applicable quality and food safety standards and company policies.
· Ensures production and maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
· Forecasts raw material, ingredient, and packaging requirements sufficient to support production schedules.
· Manages labor, material, plant maintenance and utilities budgets within approved fiscal year budget
· Procures ingredient and packaging supply requirements.
· Coordinates the delivery and warehousing of sunflower supply.
· Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
· Establishes or adjusts work schedules and SOPs to meet production requirements.
· Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, improve equipment performance, and quality of product.
· Coordinates with corporate engineering department to implement process improvement capital projects.
· Manages replacement capital projects.
· Supports work force by assisting workers in resolving conflict and solving work related problems.
· Assist with product research and development projects with other individuals in organization.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 4 to 6 employees. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with Red River Commodities company policies and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, delegating, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelors degree in industrial, mechanical, food related or business administration or related work experience.
· 10+years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in food-oriented operations and/or related industry.
· Full knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
· Working knowledge of software to include but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook, and NAV, the companies ERP system.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited data exists
· Ability to develop, implement and manage Standard Operating Procedures.
· A solid understanding of FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules and regulations.
· Understanding SQF food defense standards.
· General knowledge of HACCP and Allergen Risk Management.
· Solid understanding of MSDS, PPE and Chemical Hazards.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
