Job Summary:This individual will be making decisions critical to the financial presentation of operational outcomes of Regis University. Errors in logic or inability to analyze could lead to financial crisis situations. This individual will be responsible for monitoring policy compliance and internal control structure for the University and should communicate any policies or procedures that hinder the effectiveness of this position. This person should be able to prioritize a heavy workload and decide if there are accounting implications in work being audited.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Act as a resource to Budget Managers for transaction questions. Provide support in researching the situation and providing answers. Identify systemic problems and take corrective actions. Provide training and budget support to personnel in departments who require assistance and verification of charges.
2. Assist staff members within Financial Affairs with technical accounting or other related topics and assist in oversight of Accountant I and Accountant II, including providing training and performing first level review.
3. Manage and complete various financial reporting requirements, including but not limited to the triannual NCAA audit and the annual NCAA/EADA reports, the Department of Education annual FISAP (Fiscal Operations Report) report required by schools participating in the Federal Perkins Program and the Annual Operating Report required by schools participating in the Nursing Student Loan Program (NSL), and Unclaimed Property Reports.
4. Manage complex accounting, including but not limited to, fixed assets and capital leased equipment in accordance with FASB 117, ASC 842, and internal fixed asset policies; investment accounts for the endowment pool; and all bond account schedules and payments.
5. Preparation of monthly financial statements
6. Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with various projects as assigned including assisting in the preparation of various schedules and footnotes for the annual financial statement audit.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Minimum requirement is a baccalaureate degree in accounting, business, or finance; master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: A combination of public and industry accounting experience or 4+ years of industry experience. Non-profit accounting experience is preferred. Prior experience with the preparation of spreadsheets and interpretation of spreadsheet information is necessary.
Pay Rate:Up to $75,000/year commensurate with qualifications
