Medical receptionist for Ophthalmic practice

Busy retina practice in (downtown) Honolulu looking for an experienced front desk assistant to join our team.

Duties:

• Answering phones, verify health insurance information and eligibility.
• Collecting co-pays, scheduling patient appointments, managing the schedule and scanning/mailing/faxing reports.
• Getting prior-authorizations, referrals for office visit, testing, and procedures.
• Cross-training in billing that includes entering patient payments, insurance payments, and following up on insurance denials.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an ophthalmic office is preferable
• Energetic, friendly, detail-oriented with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized and strong ability to multi-task is required
• A great personality, positive attitude, and willing to be a team player
• Akamai and EHR experience a plus
• Per Queen’s Hospital policy- must be vaccinated or agree to vaccination upon employment
• Experience with insurance knowledge and getting prior-authorizations highly desired

Full-time position

Hours: M-F (7:30 -4:30 p.m.), 1 Saturday a month (8:00 -12pm)

Pay: $30,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
