We are looking for a Site Operations Manager to lead a technical team who delivers operations support of critical IT/OT infrastructure at Rio Tinto Kennecott. The site operations team provides a key operational support role delivering local support of critical infrastructure and services while collaborating with global teams to align with global group standards.

This role is a great opportunity for a proven and influential leader accountable for the guidance and management of the site-based IS&T operations resources and is responsible for the overall global service line integration, the performance of site IT/OT assets and services in accordance with Group-wide IS&T standards. You will leverage existing assets and emerging technologies to shape IT/OT systems and the information landscape for Rio Tinto Kennecott.

Reporting to the Business Partner Copper (Americas) and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within which you will:

• Lead and develop a team of technical professionals based in Salt Lake City delivering IT/OT operations support to Rio Tinto Kennecott
• Responsible for the delivery of site-based IS&T operations support for site critical infrastructure, field communications, applications and end-user support ensuring team practices adhere to global IS&T processes and policies
• Accountable for the site IT risk register and disaster recovery plan for the site
• Maintain compliance with the different Group-wide and IS&T standards
• Monitor, manage and improve IS&T service management delivery for the site
• Effective integration and collaboration with enterprise service lines, including staying abreast of standards, solutions, roadmaps
• Seeks ways to drive the adoption of new technology and reuse existing technology for enabling business capabilities, value streams, and business processes.
• Supports the IS&T business partner to engage key business stakeholders in identifying business and technology-enabled opportunities that supports the delivery of business strategy and drives value

• ITIL framework knowledge and experience
• Strong operational process knowledge and/or experience
• Experience developing and monitoring the delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related IT operations and/or project experience
• 8+ years of experience in process control systems, automation engineering, and/or IT/OT technical leadership skills
