As a Controller, you will get to do the following:

• Supervises and prioritizes Accounting department functions and projects, working in correlation with the Accounting
• Reports financial and tax results to Board of Directors.
• Reviews monthly financial statements for terminals, and the quarterly and annual consolidated and consolidating financial statements for the holding company.
• Reviews and approves federal, state and city income tax returns.
• Reviews terminal annual budgets and consolidated budget.
• Reviews annual state property tax returns and tax audits.
• Reviews information provided to various state and federal agency auditors.

Administrative.

• Proposes policies related to accounting, MIS and HR functions.
• Reviews 401(k) audits and performs duties related to the 401(k) and insurance committees.
• Ensures that subordinates have the proper training and instruction.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President – Administration and Risk Management.

Finance/Treasury.

• Participates in risk management function.
• Provides guidance regarding capital financing options.
• Supports the President and Vice President Administration and Risk Management in maintaining relationships with financial institutions.
• Performs weekly treasury function responsibilities.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance; CPA or MBA is preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Effective knowledge using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Working knowledge of financials, general accounting principles, human resources and benefits administration, payroll functions, and MIS functions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 8+ years of progressive financial management work experience, including supervising other managers and/or department heads (HR, IT, Accounting, Legal, etc.).
