Robert Half Office Team Hiring for Human Resources Specialist at Sacramento, California Full Time

Robert Half Sacramento has an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated Human Resources Specialist to join reputable Education company. The Human Resource Specialist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.

This position is fully onsite, Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM.

• Enters employee information in HRIS system (Paylocity experience would be extremely beneficial ) such as personal data compensation, benefits, training, attendance, merits, etc. Performs systems backup regularly
• Reviews employment applications for accuracy. Interviews non-exempt level applicants Prescreens applications for exempt candidates (may participate in Recruiting process)
• Conducts benefit and policy orientation with new hires
• Establishes and maintains all employee personnel files and records
• Updates employee files to document personnel transactions and provides information to the Finance Department for payroll purposes
• Conducts reference checks as required
• Examines employee files to answer routine inquiries and provides information to authorized personnel.
• Types letters, reports, memorandums, performance appraisals etc.
• Proofreads and corrects grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors on personnel documents presented by Hiring Managers
• Gathers and compiles data from personnel records and prepares required reports when needed
• Establishes and maintains all EEO/AAP logs
• Liaison between employees and HR for all necessary wage documentation (garnishments, benefit enhancements/changes etc)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree
• 2+ years of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
• Self-starter, someone who has come across as needing little supervision once they are shown/taught what ‘good’ looks like
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
• Customer service skills, dealing with current / potential employees with questions about their ‘personnel records/information’ and employee relations-related situations
• Approachable and appropriate interacting with staff at all levels in a rapidly changing environment
• Highly professional and able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
