Rochelle Community Hospital Hiring For Registered Respiratory Therapist Coordinator Full Time; Days at Rochelle, IL  Full Time

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of RCH, adheres to the organization’s Standards of Behavior and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Specific Coordinator Duties:

1. Promotes personal and patient safety.
2. Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
3. Maintains competency and is able to function as a Registered Respiratory Therapist-RRT.
4. Evaluates and assigns patient care for the respiratory therapists. Monitors productivity and adjusts staffing as indicated.
5. Receives notification of sick/personal days from staff. Seeks replacement staff as needed.
6. Assists with orientation of new employees and staff competency assessment.
7. Serves as a resource to all Respiratory Care professionals as well as Physicians, Nursing, and other clinical departments in the hospital with respect to respiratory patient care.
8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
9. Assumes all departmental duties in absence of Manager.

Respiratory Therapy Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Inter-office duties:
   1. Maintain all patient related paperwork as related to duties.  (Ex:  progress notes, plan of treatment, etc.)
   2. Follow all JCAHO guidelines and Rochelle Community Hospital policies and procedures.
   3. Have current CPR and PALS Card
   4. Keep equipment competencies up-to-date.

2. External duties:
   1. Set-up of respiratory therapy equipment in the hospital setting and for discharge use.                                                                                        
   2. Provide patient instruction and education on proper use, assembly, cleaning, maintenance and trouble-shooting of equipment.
   3. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

3. Effectively communicate:
   1. With professional medical staff at hospitals, nursing homes, Dr’s offices and clinics regarding products, inservices, and co-marketing as needed.
   2. With management regarding any patient care and/or service concerns, issues, observations, recommendations, etc.

Education:

1. Completed a minimum of one year technician program at an accredited   college for respiratory therapy.
2. Successfully completed the National Board for Respiratory Care certification exam and/or Registry Exams.

Experience:
Two years accumulated work experience in a similar job and/or hospital respiratory therapy department.

5. Knowledge and the ability to utilize:  (1) The theory of respiratory therapy medicine; (2) Human anatomy and physiology; (3) The disease process of the body to carry out the values of respiratory therapy agents.
6. Ability to handle a variety of duties which may be interrupted or changed by immediate circumstances.
