Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Lead SCADA/Instrumentation Specialist (M&O Trades Specialist). A Lead SCADA/Instrumentation Technician participates and/or provides technical support in the design, installation, construction, replacement, programming/control code development, HMI/OIT systems, data communications networks, server/data management systems, CMMS systems, security systems, and modification of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems; Coordinates and performs the installation, repair, calibration, and maintenance of water/wastewater instruments, such as flowmeters and other devices; Installs, maintains, programs, and services the Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other components that monitor and control water/wastewater production and treatment functions; Performs corrective and preventative maintenance to ensure proper operation and calibration of system instruments, control loops, and monitoring circuits; and, participate in rotating on-call duties as needed. They also perform and coordinate the complex installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of systems and equipment. Inspects work for completion, quality, and conformance with applicable standards and/or regulations; Prepares standards, methods, and techniques for maintenance improvement programs; Monitors and maintains inventory. Orders and purchases required supplies and materials. Researches and locates parts; Oversees the collection and analysis of data of maintenance and repair tasks; Operates complex electronic diagnostic and calibration equipment; May be required to participate in rotating on-call duties; and, performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, supplemented with college coursework or technical training and five years’ experience in industrial control systems, including four years of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) operational technology systems experience in water/wastewater or related field; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. Must possess upon hire or obtain with in 6 months and maintain Grade1 certifications from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) in Water and Wastewater. The certifications must include at least one in Water Treatment or Water Distribution; and at least one in Wastewater Treatment or Wastewater Collections. OSHA Safety Certificate highly desired. Valid Arizona Class D Driver License required. Preferred: One year of lead or supervisory experience.

Physical Demands
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium: Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, blood and other bodily fluids, and extreme temperatures.
Job Information
Closing Date: Open until filled Hiring Salary: $34.83 – $40.04 Hourly D.O.E.
