Purpose: The primary purpose of the Payroll,Benefits and HR Administrator is to successfully process payroll bi-weekly, ensuring that employee wages and deductions are paid and allocated accurately.This position is also involved in educating employees about benefits, enrollment and overall administration of Benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Payroll/HRIS Systems
Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain internal payroll records.
Ensure that the HRIS system is accurate and maintained.
Ensure that employee deductions are correct and reconciled.
Create and provide payroll reports to Controller
Reset Payroll system passwords for employees.
Benefits
Act as a resource for Benefit related questions
Tracking of Benefit related deductions to support accounting records and reconciliations.
Reconcile and Transmit FSA,Transit and HSA contributions.
Reconcile invoices for medical, dental, Life/LTD and vision.
Ensure that employee enrollments, deductions and payments to vendors are correct and timely.
Serve as a backup to Reconcile and transmit retirement contributions each pay period.
Collect and process COBRA payments.
Create annual census reports for broker and quarterly reports for SFHCO.
Assist HR Director with open enrollment ;data preparation for insurance policies in Paycom and the distribution of summary plan descriptions.
Prepare SRA for Retirement Plan.
New Hire Processing
Process new hires using the on-boarding system.
Create files for all new hires ensuring the collection of all necessary documents to meet conditions of employment.
Assist with the preparation for new employee orientation by preparing New Hire Folders and other duties as assigned by HR Director.
Other HR Duties
Assist in the annual distribution of employment agreement, benefits statements and Employee Handbook.
Assist with job descriptions to ensure they are accurate and updated annually.
Assist with employee State Disability and Paid Family Leave claims, long-term disability, worker’s compensation claims.
Complete verifications of employment.
Maintain employee personnel files.
Assist with volunteer requirements
Assist with Reference checks
ASP and Summer Program Employees Paycom Training
General Business Office & Accounting Duties
Maintain office filing and storage systems, including vendor invoices, journal entries and cash receipts.
Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail for distribution.
Assist Accounts Payable Specialist with obtaining receipts, backup documents and signatures from Administrators, Faculty and Staff as needed.
Review expense reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with School policy.
Assist in the preparation of spreadsheets and schedules as needed in support of the annual audit and vendor balances.
Process Certificate of Insurance requests as needed.
Monitor and maintain office supplies for the Business Office.
Responsible for the postage meter, including monitoring operation and repairs and ordering related supplies.
Manage room reservations and other requests for Business Office and HR Events and meetings.
Assist in the mailing of tuition statements.
Serve as a backup to the front desk receptionist as needed.
Other duties as assigned by the President and CFO.
Morning/Afternoon Traffic Duty
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Requires B.A./B.S. degree with 2 years experience in accounting and payroll processing.
Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a proficiency in applicable technology (i.e. Google Sheets & Documents, Microsoft applications, school databases, etc.), and dynamic interpersonal skills.
Experience working in Human Resources preferred.
Excellent writing, communication and grammar skills.
Ability to appropriately manage highly confidential information.**
Accuracy and attention to detail.
MS Office proficiency.
Payroll software: Paycom
Payroll tax knowledge.
Mathematical aptitude.
Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative.Must have excellent teamwork skills.
Must be a role model in embracing and living out the Schools’ mission, goals and criteria.
Experience with independent schools is preferred.
This is a full time on campus position.
