PLANT POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Packaging Operator – Multi-Pack
Shift: Gray Days 7a-7p
Department/Location: Stephenville
Title of Immediate Leader: Shift TA/TL
Base Rate: $21.19/hr

Position Purpose:
Act as an operator for the multi-pack line. Assist with gathering materials for multi pack line. Ensures all areas are functioning as needed. Adjusts, operates, troubleshoots and and cleans multipack line. Checks orders and assist with improving line efficeincy. Performs other line duties as needed to ensure line runs accordingly. Provides relief breaks for partners on that line. When line is not in operation, will be required to work in other areas such as bulk line, cup line, bar line or other areas of the plant as needed. Works closely with TA/TL on operations of the line and equipment. Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL. Give feedback as needed to maintain teamwork of the line.
Essential Functions:
Ascertains the day’s production supplies such as raw material(s), labels, film, and boxes. Ensure proper film alignment using diagram reference. Adjusts barrier for proper infeed of cream cheese bar. Removes and cleans forms, removes debris. Checks seal integrity, safeguard blade is cutting properly. Checks temperatures on equipment are accurate. Adjusts lanes going into starwheel as needed. Ensures proper insertion of shippers, cartons, film, glue.
Runs line breaks, operators breaks and/or vacation.
Reads production order or follows oral instructions to determine cheese type, style and packaging material required.
Sets specifications as indicated by the product, package size and production order. Operates code dating devices to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
Observes operation of all machines to detect and correct inconsistencies.
Periodically train operators on other shifts in the operation and preventative maintenance of 8oz bar equipment.
Understands duties and responsibilities for all positions on the line and can demonstrate proficiency in each of them. Assist in operations as needed including general sanitation and a portion of the QA responsibilities
Ability and willingness to interact in a positive, professional and team oriented manner with people at many levels and in many roles. Communicate with operators and leaders of other lines such as bar and autopal to ensure line runs efficiently, communicate issues to leader and others in area of responsibility.
Ability and willingness to lead and maintain an attitude of flexibility and cooperation in all interactions. May help on other lines as needed.
Assist in development and implementation of SOP’s, PCP’s and GMP’s
Educational/Experience/Skills Required: (Minimum Level)
English speaking/ written & verbal communication is a requirement.
