Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Accountant for our client, an incredible health and reproductive rights advocate and nonprofit organization located in Denver, CO.
This position provides a great opportunity to contribute to a wonderful mission and work with a close-knit, supportive accounting department! The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and a positive team player!

What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare and maintain important financial reports.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and perform General Ledger account reconciliations, research, and variance analysis.
- Provide support for preparation of the annual budget, month-end close, yearly fiscal audit support, and accounting projects.
- Provide support for financial statement preparation for multiple cost centers and programs.
- Support internal audits to verify accuracy of records, risk management, payroll, and accountability for physical and financial assets.
- Assist with continuous improvement of accounting and systems processes.
What You Have to Offer
- Understanding of general ledger, financial analysis, and budgeting for nonprofits.
- 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong attention to detail, collaborative team-focused attitude, and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to succeed and adjust in a constantly evolving environment.
- Understanding of NetSuite, Dynamic Budgets, Ceridian payroll, Financial Reporting tool, SAP Crystal Reports, and Excel Pivot Tables preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Compensation:
This position offers an hourly pay rate of $28-$33/hr. dependent on experience as well as a robust benefits package including medical, vision, dental coverage, employee loan program, 401K, PTO, Paid family Leave, float holidays, sick time, and more!
