Position Summary

Salary range for this position is: $63,886/yr. – $88,223/yr. (depending on experience)
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
We currently have two Instructional Designer positions available. One position Is located at Seattle Central College, and one position is located at South Seattle College.
Are you passionate about supporting student success by working directly with faculty, assisting them in developing effective, accessible, and culturally responsive course design, instructional content, and delivery methods that adhere to quality standards and anti-racist practices? If so, then we invite you to consider joining our team, an equity-focused open-access college dedicated to helping all students achieve their academic and professional goals. As an Instructional Designer, you will provide faculty from diverse disciplines with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by desired learning outcomes. The Instructional Designer will also provide instructional design, development, and delivery support for pedagogically sound and accessible use of educational technology tools. As a relational position, the Instructional Designer will coach faculty and meet reluctance with kindness, compassion, and perseverance. This is a highly interactive and collaborative environment working with faculty and staff and requires strong interpersonal and team communication skills. Successful applicants must be able to work effectively in a complex, changing environment with a positive, flexible, and innovative attitude.
Our dynamic eLearning team supports student success and provides innovative and culturally responsive solutions in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff in the creation, implementation, assessment, and promotion of high-quality programs, courses, and opportunities across all learning modalities and college-supported technology tools.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-SPS.
