Position Description
Reporting to the Associate Provost and Dean of Admissions (Dean), the Director of
Undergraduate Admissions (Director) is the day-to-day leader of the undergraduate admissions team and a key player in the development and
implementation of the Undergraduate Admissions strategic enrollment plan. The director is responsible for overseeing undergraduate
recruitment, selection, and admissions processes. The director leads a highly engaged and professional Undergraduate Admissions team and
fosters collaboration and coordination of undergraduate outreach efforts within the Seattle University community.
Essential Job Functions
In partnership with the dean, the director is responsible for leading the undergraduate
admissions Office’s day to day work. The director also plays a critical role in the development of Undergraduate Admissions
recruitment and marketing strategies for prospective undergraduate students, family members and key influencers to meet the annual
enrollment goals including headcount, profile and net tuition revenue. The successful candidate evidences a commitment to Seattle
University’s mission and values, ensuring a positive and productive working environment and achieving enrollment objectives.
Additionally, the Director is responsible for coordinating key recruitment efforts within strategic markets.
The successful
candidate will possess strong admissions leadership, communication and analytical skills. The Director should have a proven record of
advancing diversity, access, and inclusivity goals.The director will ensure full utilization of the CRM in building relationships with
prospective students, families and other key influencers and developing strong analytical reporting to direct efforts most productive for
goal achievement. The Director hires, trains, supervises and conducts performance evaluations for the professional undergraduate admissions
staff and supports the professional development for the undergraduate admissions team.
Marginal Job Functions
Reviews, recommends and adheres to Seattle University’s undergraduate admissions policies and procedures and
represents the Admissions Office at professional conferences and settings. Represents Seattle University at high school and community
college visitations, campus interviews, on and off-campus information sessions. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and minimally seven years Undergraduate
Admissions experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
In-depth knowledge of financial aid trends and enrollment-related issues in higher education.The director will possess excellent
organization skills and attention to detail; strong oral and written communications skills are essential. Experience marketing to diverse
youth and young adult populations through major communication channels including print, social media, digital marketing, web, email and
text.A demonstrated commitment to diversity, service excellence and the mission, vision, and values of Seattle University. All positions at
Seattle University require a criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s
degree in a relevant field. Experience working with a CRM, preferably Slate and familiarity with Colleague functionality.
