Provides secretarial services to the head of a major division or office having intense control and managerial functions by reason of the size, scope and complexity of operations, characterized by the existence of several subordinate major branches and supervisory echelons; responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, acts with a minimum of supervision and with substantial use of discretion, judgment and selectiveness in getting the job done; supervises clerical employees; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Customer Services, Motor Vehicles, Licensing, and Permits Division. Position is located in Honolulu, and is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative assistance to the Licensing Administrator by organizing and coordinating matters that require executive attention; independently directing and coordinating the various housekeeping and office services function of the Motor Vehicles, Licensing and Permits Division; and other related duties and responsibilities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Four years of secretarial, stenographic or substantive clerical experience.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures; basic principles and capabilities of word processors and computers; filing methods and systems; grammar, spelling and word usage; principles and practices of supervision, and the ability to type/input information accurately; understand and effectively use word processing and other software applications; understand and interpret laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; summarize and brief materials; give and follow oral and written instructions; and deal tactfully and effectively with employees and the public.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required.
