Summary:

Reporting to the President, the incumbent is responsible for strategic and operational vision and planning for the Sales and Marketing Departments along with the oversight of projects undertaken by them. The job holder is also accountable for growing both gross profit and net income. The Vice President of Sales and Marketing has direct and indirect supervisory authority of employees.

Supervisory Responsibility:

The Vice President directly supervises the Sales and Marketing functions of our business

Essential Job Functions:

Leadership, Management and Accountability (LMA)

• Interview job applicants and make hiring recommendations
• Lead and inspire assigned staff to perform at their highest level of capability
• Manage employee performance by communicating work expectations, providing feedback/coaching, documenting notable behaviors, and conducting appraisals
• Hold employees accountable for meeting performance and conduct standards, including administering disciplinary actions and employment terminations per company policies and applicable laws
• Oversee staff scheduling, including time off requests and overtime authorizations
• Address complaints and resolve conflicts involving direct reports

Strategic Planning

• Develop strategies and tactics to increase market share within existing accounts and markets while expanding into new territories within our core market
• Develop and execute on annual departmental budgets for Sales and Marketing
• Develop and deploy sales strategy to scale top line growth while driving margin improvement
• Establishes clear sales metrics and benchmarks for measuring progress and maintaining focus
• Establish and maintain a strong network of key relationships within the industry
• Develop and execute a culture where every employee follows the Sales core process
• Fosters and grows the die-hard Seneca Tank fanbase
• Accountable for growth of gross profit and net income

Product Management

• Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to drive product growth initiatives to existing lines
• Own communication of product strategy and progress across the company, ensuring all key stakeholders are sufficiently bought-in and informed as required

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet without correction, color vision, depth perception and field of vision
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, job candidates are required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug-screen
• Willingness and ability to obtain a U.S. Passport within 90 days of hire, and travel internationally when necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 10+ years’ experience in sales management
• 5+ years’ experience using CRM software, preferably Acumatica
• Familiarity with specifications and configurations of various heavy duty truck manufacturers (e.g., Kenworth, Western Star, Freightliner, and Peterbilt)
