This person will be responsible for a sales territory primarily located in the Midwest or Eastern United States. This territory will contain multiple large, key accounts that are foundational to our business in SNI. We are seeking a sales professional with large account management experience and proven ability to establish top-top relationships inside large, multi-national accounts.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain favorable relationships with new and existing clients in order to optimize product mix, launch innovations and manage forecasts and run rates. This position will require contract management and frequent quotations and price negotiations within structured agreements. Requires a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, agriculture or business/finance. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of large account and territory sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively position SNI to provide a strategy for performance to its customers. The vision is to be the customer’s most valuable resource and the delivery of products for functionality, On Time in Full service, product safety and overall flavor/taste performance.
Manage primary relationships with customers’ Research and Product Development and Purchasing organizations. Develop and manage relationships with top management of selective major customers. Interface with primary technical contacts in order to solicit new business and to participate actively on long-term projects.
State clearly and specifically the mission of the company, determine the unmet needs of the customers within the assigned territory and develop strategies to effectively deal with these issues and close new business.
Develop and execute programs that will be widely respected as well as accepted by the territory customer base that will result in the acquisition, development and retention of business to enhance Sensient’s brand equity, recognition and value.
Analyze, evaluate and compare company product lines with those in competitive organizations and recommend strategies that will minimize the effect of the competition on sales while enhancing sales for the company (SWOT).
Take responsibility for the analysis of the customer and/or business segment in order to spot trends, resolve problems and to correct any potential service or product errors.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
Strong computer skills. Knowledge of Power BI and Sales Force is a big benefit.
Must possess some working knowledge of the food ingredient industry
Demonstrated ability to manage significant business opportunities to grow the company’s position as the leader in its field.
Must have the ability to travel to multiple customers throughout the United States. Travel is expected (required) to be minimum 50%.
