Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is hiring aFullTimestatus RN (Registered Nurse) in our Med/Surg – Hematology Unit.
Up to $20,000 Sign On Bonus to qualified candidate successfully hired for this Night Shift position!
Position Overview
- Full Time; 36 hours per week
- Night Shift; 7pm – 7am
- New grads are welcome!
- You take control of your schedule with self scheduling
Department Overview
This is a brand new state of the art 24 bed unit that offers a wide variety of medical diagnosis from CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Stroke, end of life to name a few, with specialty in caring for those with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell.
You will also become very knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, etc.
Our staff members have different backgrounds that allow us to provide culturally competent care to our patients and families. The best part is learning and growing from each other! Teamwork is what we do best and no one is left behind or left out. We are Sentara Fami-Leigh!!!

Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Qualifications:
N-2YR – RN-Associate’s Degree (Required), N-3YR – RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR – RN-Bachelor’s Level Degree (Required), N-6YR – RN-Master’s Level Degree (Required), N-DN – RN-Doctorate Level Degree
