Job Summary:
Provides day-to-day human resources support to the Corporate Director of Human Resources by assisting in the following areas: recruiting, benefits, training and development, associate relations, associate communications and assist with special projects.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assists the Corporate Director of Human Resources administer the core HR processes.
2. Assists in delivering core training initiatives: New Manager on-boarding, Orientation, TOP Culture Training and Associate Opinion Survey training.
3. Administers Shamin Benefits program to include new associate enrollment, benefit changes and termination in the payroll/benefits system.
4. Assists accounting to assure that benefits invoices and billing, assuring billing is accurate and invoices are paid in a timely manner.
5. Assists in conducting audits of benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action as needed.
6. Handles employee information with a professional level of confidentially.
7. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
8. Completes Employment Verifications for previous associates as needed.
9. Helps to completes unemployment paperwork with input from the respective manager and submits to the VEC.
10. Helps to coordinate Benefits Open Enrollment and the communication to managers and associates about Open Enrollment.
11. Fully understands each of the various benefits programs and can explain to associates so that they understand.
13. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of our benefits processes.
14. Assist with job fairs and employee recruiting when necessary.
15. Assist with new hotel acquisitions and hotel openings as needed.
16. Assists Director of H.R. with various special projects as needed.
17. Makes photocopies, faxes or scans documents, files and performs other clerical functions as needed.
18. Helps to maintain personnel files by assuring documents are filed into appropriate employee files.
19. Position requires some travel and may include unusual working hours.
20. Regular and reliable attendance at the job site.
21. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience:
· High School Degree or GED required.
· Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
· Extremely proficient in work processing, database management and MS Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
· Excellent Communications skills both verbal and written. Ability to formulate business related correspondence (memos and letters).
· Professional level of confidentially in handling employee information required.
· Excellent problem solving skills: ability to work independently; excellent organizational skills.
· Proven ability to speak in a public forum (i.e. – facilitate group training and group meetings, participate in job fairs etc.)
· Bilingual (Spanish) experience a plus.
· Keen attention to detail required.
· Valid Virginia driver’s license.
· Driving record approved by insurance carrier guidelines.
