II-1. General Description
The human resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function for SL Tennessee.
II-2. Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Provides executive-level leadership to the Human Resources (HR) department.
2. Ensures Human Resources department operates in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, rules, and policies/procedures.
3. Develops and operates within the approved department budget each fiscal year.
4. Responsible for the strategic planning of the HR function.
· Regularly reviews organization policies, procedures, and practices as applicable to Human Resources, and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement.
· Develops department goals and ensures regular review through the development and implementation of HR metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
5. Develops and implements HR programs in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organization. This includes ongoing talent development, succession planning, and employee satisfaction initiatives.
6. Develops and implements compensation program.
· Reviews compensation structure and conducts benchmarking on an annual basis to ensure internal equity as well as external competitiveness. This includes the completion of salary surveys.
· Ensures ongoing wage and hour compliance.
7. Oversees recruitment and hiring process.
8. Develops and implements performance management system.
9. Administers employee benefits, including health and dental plans as well as the organization’s retirement savings plan and workers’ compensation.
10. Responsible for employee relations, including performance management/disciplinary action, and general coaching of management team.
11. Consults with legal counsel, as necessary.
12. Maintains knowledge of current trends and legislation to ensure organizational compliance.
13. Supervises and develops the HR staff.
14. Champion strategies to improve turnover and employee morale
15. Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues
16. Develops and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders, including outside agencies, vendors, and committees.
II-3. Job Requirements
II-3-1. Work Experience
1. 10 years of Human Resources experience
2. 5 in a Human Resources Management role
3. 5 years in a manufacturing environment
II-3-2. Education
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. SHRM certification is a plus
II-3-3. Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in MS Office suite
Highly developed communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Ability to engage in abstract reasoning and problem solving.
Ability to interpret data and to write reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups.
Ability to manage time effectively and maximize efficiency.
Knowledge in employment law, benefit administration, workers comp, and development.
Must possess a high level of leadership ability
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
