Human Resources Coordinator At Smarsh, the Human Resources Coordinator supports the organization’s engagement, recruiting, onboarding, and HRIS programs. The HR Coordinator may work in or support any area of Human Resources. You will work with a dynamic and driven high performing team and be responsible for day to day human resources activities. This position is ideally suited for a candidate who is comfortable with constant change, multitasking, and working on other projects indirectly in the Human Resources field. Essential Functions * Maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, transfers, or promotions. * Ensures records are maintained in compliance with HR practices and policies (e.g., scanning/uploading to HRIS). Ensures that all federal, state, and local employment regulations are followed accurately and timely. * Responsible for processing annual background screenings for all employees based in the US and Canada. * Promotes the new hire experience from inception of signing offer letter – communicates with new hires on first day expectations and prepares all onboarding. * Complete the processing of new hire onboarding – running background checks, I-9s, and sending the new hire packet. * Responsible for maintenance of our HRIS including processing promotions, transfers, terminations, etc. * Prepare documentation for any promotion, compensation, or job information change. * Assist HR Business Partners in the exit process (e.g., prepare documentation, process systems changes, submit term ticket, etc.). * Assist the HR Specialist with InfoSec compliance and audit requests. * Support the HR Specialist in the independent contractor process * All other duties as assigned Education and Experience * Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or Sociology preferred * 1+ years in a Human Resources role * Knowledge of Oregon compliance & employment law/requirements * Knowledge of other state regulations would be an asset * Experience working in a fast growth organization would be an asset * Experience working with an HRIS system (experience with BambooHR preferred) * Strong computer skills with an advanced grasp of the Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.) * Impeccable attention to detail, with highly-developed organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills * Ability to work with minimal supervision and to be a dedicated team player Additional Eligibility Qualifications * Must possess excellent communication skills * MOST IMPORTANTLY- a great “can do” attitude to fit in with our dedicated and high performing team * Great initiative & a strong willingness to continuously learn * Ability to think strategically and operationally Work Authorization/Security Clearance We are not providing visa sponsorship at this time.
